Rockhound State Park, NM

On our way to El Paso, we stop off for a two day visit to Rockhound State Park, outside Deming, NM.  This small state park offers a few short hike trails, huge campsites and beautiful views across the Valley.  Wishing for more time here.

Catalina State Park

After two weeks of family fun in Apache Junction/Phoenix area, we arrive at Catalina State Park, outside Tucson, for a little more socializing.  On a beautiful sunny afternoon, Andrew, Ame and I meet Pam & John (from Oh, the Places They Go!) for a tasty lunch and cool beer at Barrio Brewing, an neat industrial restaurant located near downtown Tucson.  Also, we are fortunate to run into some old WBCCI, Arizona Unit, friends at the state park.  The complete our stay,  Andrew, Ame, and I hit a few trails to for little cactus and canyon exploration.

Lost Dutchman State Park & Family

After a brief visit to Lake Mead and Lake Havasu, Andrew and I joyfully settled into our two week stay at Lost Dutchman State Park.  We’ve come back to LDSP so we can visit some of Andrew’s family in the area.  While in the area last year, we didn’t know that Andrew’s uncle only 4 miles down the road and his aunt another 20 miles away.  This year we are back to meet, hear stories from the past, look at old family photos and enjoy a some quality time with family.
